Rare book by the leading road racing driver in America in the early 1950s prior to the arrival of Phil Hill etc.
Fitch raced as a Factory MERCEDES BENZ driver at Le Mans and in the Targa Florio. It's said his phone call to the company management in Germany led to the Mercedes being pulled out of the 1955 Le Mans after a disastrous crash involving one of them killed over 80 spectators.
Fitch also raced Cunningham, Sunbeam, Ferrari etc. took part in the Alpine Trial and the Careera Panamericana Mexcio among many other events of the day .
