Wonderful Account of the Riley Company from the pen of the Club Register's Historian. It covers all the Cars and even the Cycles that proudly bore the name Riley from 1898 to 1969, albeit badge engineered by the likes of BMC since the War years. Rileys are best remembered for the many versions of the advanced 9hp from the late twenties to mid thirties, as out and out racers, sports cars and sporting saloons, the larger engines being the basis of the ERA racing car that was so competitive in voiturette (F2) racing in the late thirties and is still so today in Historic Racing.
This work covers every aspect and facet of an amazing Marque and the Men who created it and developed it, a Marque that has loyalty and brings a grin to the face of those who ever owned one. An incredibly detailed work, it runs to 489pp with heaps of photos & detail of text. Chassis number details & specification, events entered and awards won, development for competition and production, evolution of the models. In fact everything you ever wanted to know about the Riley that is available is in this book. this is the 1st edition from 1982 which has clearly been read a referred to often, the page edges are going a tan colour and there is bad sun-fading of the jacket , and partcularly on the spine, a common problem with this title, the upper and lower edges of the jacket have also been reinfoced with tape so this is really a working copy for an owner rather than a collectors title to lok good on a shelf.
