Rare previously unpublished photo of Auto Union D Type V12 Grand Prix car #1 in the 1938 Donington Grand Prix.
This one was driven by Hermann Muller, team mate to the winner, the legendary Tazio Nuvolari.
Here he's seen at what is now Schwantz Curve on the climb between the bridge (just out of sight behind the trees in this shot) and McLeans corner. The trees have all long gone and the area to the left which appears heavily wooded is now the big spectator area and carpark which is a big sloping grass bank.
This photo came from a complete, uncut strip of 35mm negs that were discovered still in their original Agfa can where they had remained since being processed in 1938.
