Black and white photo of the great Jack Brabham, three times world formula one drivers champion - once in a car of his own construction - at speed in the streaming wet practice for the Monaco Grand Prix in 1970.
This was his last season in Formula One and he was as competitive as ever, leading this event until a famo
us incident on the very last corner when he made an uncharacteristic mistake and crashed handing the win to Jochen Rindt. Rindt had been delayed early on and was at his almost supernatural best charging back towards the front of the field when Brabham entered the last corner, glimpsed what he though was Rindt about to overtake and missed his own braking point, sliding nose first into the barriers.
Rindt arrived on the scene moments later and passed before Jack had chance to back out of the wall and cover the last few hundred yards to victory! This amazing photos shows the amazing amount of standing water at the Tabac corner with Jack blasting through in a cloud of spray with his Brabham Ford BT33. It's not a period print, it's a modern reprint but it's still a nice item.
