Leslie Marr (actually Sir Leslie, a Baronet, but he never used his title) is a noted artist who raced Connaught F2 and F1 cars largely for fun in the mid 1950s's with some promise considering his limited prior experience . Butthe Connaught was so troublesome that his enthusiasm for the sport faded away with every retirement and he walked away from motor racing.
The streamliner bodied Connaught was one of three such cars built but the body made access and indeed driving, quite tricky due to it's bulk and very quickly the cars assumed regular bodies. Tony Brooks achieved the teams most notable success winning the 1955 Syracuse GP against a team of factory Maserati 250Fs. A major achievement which propelled him ino the BRM, Vanwall and Ferrari teams over the next few years.
Chassis B3 was reengined with a Jaguar unit for a while and later reaced in unsteamlined form by rising star Stuart Lewis-Evans (managed by a certain B C Ecclestone)
