10x7 inch (250x175mm) photo of the rare Connew F1 being pushed through the paddock at Brands Hatch in 1972 during the ROTHMANS Victory Race . In this race the car was driven by David Purley.
The Connew was a remarkable back-yard F1 car built in a single car lock up garage in North London by a group of very keen amateurs. It actually qualified and started in the Austrian GP in 1972. Later it appeared with a Chevrolet engine in a couple of F5000 events before the money ran out.
