The rare Connew F1 sat without it's top bodywork, in the paddock at Brands Hatch in 1972 during the
Rothmans Victory Race. In this race the car was driven by David Purley.

The Connew was a remarkable back-yard F1 car built in a single car lock up garage in North London by a group of very keen amateurs. It actually qualified and started in the Austrian GP in 1972. Later it appeared with a Chevrolet engine in a couple of F5000 events before the money ran out.
