Kieft was a prime mover in the 500cc F3 racing movement that shot Stirling Moss and Peter Collins towards F1 stardom in the early 50s. His most famous design was literally made to measure for Stir;ing whop later said it was the largest leap forward to racing car design her ever encountered - which is some claim! The Welsh based Lieft company also build a number of successful small capacity sports racing cars that ran at Le Mans and an F1 design that used the 2.5 litre Coventry Climax V8 engine which famously was never raced after it's backers believed inflated BHP figures quoted by Maserati ! They assumed the engine was underpowered when in fact it would seemingly have been well up to the task. It never raced in period but the restored car as run at Goodwood in recent times.  Fascinating tale of an early key figure in the British Racing Car Industry  that sprung up in the 50s and 60s.  358 pages. Printed cover boards. Hardback. Quite rare these days.
