One of the rarer in this fine series of Driver Profiles. With Foreword by Sir Jack Brabham. The late Dan Gurney was one of a small group of American Racers who rose to the forefront of Grand Prix Racing in the late Fifties and early 60s (almost all with Ferrari!) and went on to drive for Porsche, Brabham and then his own Eag;le team in F1, winning Grands Prix for each in turn .He also built race winning Indy cars, was a leading light in Can Am, won NASCAR road races and was one of the most versatile drivers of his or any other era. The urban legend is that he detested something about this book (given his general geniality of personality it must have really hurt, and was loath to talk about let alone sign copies of it in later life! As a result, perhaps, this has become one of the rarest books on the great man and much sought after. Fine condition book and jacket. Very minor edge curling. 228 large pages
