Merzario and team mate Jacky Ickx struggled with the 312B in this form and Ferrari had a terrible season - both drivers left before it ended and results were very thin on the ground. Here at Monaco Merzario lasted 58 laps before his oil pressure vanished - Ickx was already out with a broken half shaft by then... Jarier went on to suffer a gearbox failure at 67 laps...
The winner was Jackie Stewart on route to his 3rd and final world title.
