Lovely and very rare colour paddock shot of the huge 4.5 litre V12 Ferrari 375 of Chico Landi (stood far right) at Silverstone prior to the 1952 British GP meeting. The car is an F1 car and it raced in the suppporting Daily Express Trophy event for Formula Libre against the BRM V16s and Thinwall Ferrari because in 1952 and 1953 all world championship Grand Prix were held to F2 regulations.

The Daily Express Trophy was won by Taruffi in the Thinwall Special Ferrari at a speed some 3mph faster than Alberto Asdcari managed in the Grand Prix itself (with an F2 Ferrari of course).

Landi was later the circuit manager at interlago in his native Brazil. His best result in F1 was 4th in the 1956 Argentine GP making him the first Brazilian to score championship points.
