Ford GT40 (chassis 1009) of Frank Gardner/ Malcolm Guthrie leading others horetly after the start of the 1969 Le Mans 24 hours race. The car was an Alan Mann entry and qualified 15th and retired early with a broken drive shaft.
This car was based on the chassis of the 7 litre MkII that Graham Hill and Brian Muir had run at the 1966 Le Mans , leading the opening lap in the process. It was featured on the cover of CLASSIC AND SPORTSCAR in it's retored (HIll/Muir) spec in the October 2010 edition
