The author is one of the foremost historians of that age and of engineering history in general The book is generally very good condition  but has some water marking on the top inner back cover although this has not affected the text pages and the jacket is tired and quite worn but complete . The book carries 5 signatures that may or may not be significant? they are: W. T. Arthur, W.A. Copeland, J.G.Spencer, D.R.Hill, S.M. Dunlevy. If I have read them correctly. 144 pages with many illustrations, plus photos.
