Great book by the marque experts on this exotic Italian racing and sports car maker who's grand prix cars ran in the front line from the 1920s to the end of the 50s and included such legendary models as the 250F which was raced by almost everyone of note - Moss, Fangio, Hawthorn, Collins, Ascari etc.
The sports-racing cars remained at the top untill the early 60s, the famous Birdcage being almost the last gasp.
This book charts the rise an eventual fall as the firm . founded by the racing Maserati brothers passed into the hands of the Orsi's and almost went under due to a multi-car accident that wiped out the sports car team at the end of 1957.
Great photos, lots of detail.
