This Magnificent Volume features the outstanding photography of the author, a Kodak engineer with access to all the best new equipment at the time and a personal freind of Mercedes team driver Richard Seaman. Having covered the start of the Silver Arrows era in a conventional manner, Monkhouse was able to travelled with Seaman to races during the years 1937-9 and thus had a unique insiders's access to this famous and dramatic era.  Monkhouse had written eartlier books on the subkject but this one, by rthe publishers of the ERA book by Weguelin, continues the tale to the end of the Mercedes F1 involvement in 1955 (with Moss and Fangio) and because of it's higher [rinting quality is able to showcase the wonderful images in a much larger and clearer format than before. If you have the early books you really should put on of these 1984 books on your shelf alongside as it's thoroughly complimentary .It runs to 207 very large landscape pages Very good book in original   transparent jacket. There is a lower outer corner clipped from the fly-leaf/end paper and a little but of damage and repairt around that and Priced to reflect this.
