Originally published in 1956 for The Science Museum. It is an amazing volume of the evolution of the Motor Cycle from an unstable, overweight, underpowered, accident waiting to happen, it very quickly developed into a machine capable of tackling the Isle of Man TT and all the obstacles that that venue could and still does throw at its challengers. The story shows in the technical aspect how the transformation came about to produce such a superb array of machines in the vintage years that are just as enjoyable and satisfying to ride today. 165 pages. A softbound book in good condition aside from a light crease on the back cover
