The author having just lost his seat in the House of Commons found time on his hands and looked for another challenge. In 1925 a seven month tour of Nigeria , the gold Coast and Sierra Leone wetted his appetite for his own motorised attempt at the crossing of Africa West to East from Lagos to Massawa, by way of Khartoum. Two Jowett Cars were used in this expedition, the author in one and Jack Sawyer in the other. The Book which runs to 271 pages plus Maps describes in very readable fashion the highs & lows encountered on these two African Journeys. The Book is in extremely clean and fine condition for it's age. . A rare title.
