1996 re-issue of an amazing 1948 publication by British Intelligence in the wake of WW2 investigating the technology in Mercedes and Auto Union Grand Prix, and speed record cars  captured at the end of hostilities.
These cars had dominated Grand Prix Racing in the years 1934-39 and employed cutting edge technical breakthroughs and material technology which had later found it's way into military technology during the war.

The author had access to cars and plans captured as the Allied armies overwhelmed Germany in 1945, compiling a techincal assesment of their designs, concepts, development and potential.
An astonishing work, it includes cutaway drawings and plans, charts and calculations for all aspects of the designs from suspension to fuel composition .
The original work was issued as a straight forward paperback government report in 1948 and is very rare. This hardback reissue almost 50 years later offers the same information in less fragile, less costly form.
Very rare now itself!
The book is 160 pages and in very good clean condition, showing it's age a little as one would expect after 28 years. The jacket features art by the legendary F Gordon-Crosby and has a faded spine (see image) otherwise very good.
