Rare history of the class below GRAND PRIX in Motor Racing terms (later known as Formula 2 of GP2) which has always formed as a #foot on the ladder' for drivers and manufacturers on the rise to the lofty heights of Grand Prix Racing itself.
This book covers the 1900-1923 era when the class ran some major events like the COUP DE LA AUTO in France and the 200 MILES RACE at Brooklands . The class was a launch pad for Bugatti in the early 20s and other notable makers included Fiat, Sunbeam, Talbot, Darraq, Vauxhall and Delage. Drivers included Henry Segrave , Albert Divo, Count Zborowski (Of Chitty Bang Bang fame) and Parry Thomas (of BABS fame) .
Really nicely written, very desriptive and talling heroic tales of early motor sport that have mostly been overlooked elsewhere.
