Chunky  764 page biography of the 1976 F1 world champion and later TV commentator supreme who rode into F1 as a wild man from a posh background funded by an English Lord (Hesketh) with a reputation as a party animal and womanizer, with a short temper and pithy turn of phrase. He quickly became the most charismatic driver of his generation, enormously popular, dazzelingly talented and completely fearless. His battle with Lauda for the 1976 world title  is probably the most dramatic chapter in F1 history (and inspired a Hollywood film)  but success sat uneasily on his shoulders. Retiring early at just 30 he found life out of the car more difficult and this rather controversial book is a warts-and-all account of James in all his facets from schoolboy tennis protege to noted breeder of budgies and hell raiser. Fine condition book and jacket
