Unusual book about the master scratch-builder of model racing cars, Rex Hays who's work was used widely in the 1950s and 60s for motor club trophies and award. He also built slot cars and other such devices. This book goes through the process of desiging and building as well as the reason for the model and what became of it, using the following cars/awards as exmples of 'how it's done' : ERA Clun Trophy (ERA). Joe Fry Trophy (Freikasierwagen) , Two Bentley le Mans winners (1927 and 1930), Jaguar D Type presented to HRH Prince Charles, St John Horsfall Trophy (Aston Martin .Present for the former King of Iraq (Mercedes SSK) etc etc. Very good book and jacket but the jacket does have a bit of staining from tpe that had been put on the back and has leeched through a little.
