Jody was 3rd after a long time spent leading - he suffered a slow puncture late in the race, Andretti and Lauda both managed to get past. The Wolf was a new car for 1977 and scored a sensational debut win in Argentina. Jody was in the running for the world title for much of the season, and won three races in all, but mid season reliability issues meant Niki Lauda was able to pull too far ahead in the points and bag the title for himself and Ferrari.
