Created in the midst of the early 1980s recession , Simon Lewis Transport Books is still here 40 years later in world unrecognisable from those times ... how did we get here? Where do we go next? No idea! But here's a few memories anyway...

The season-ending RALLYE PRESOTT event. Rally cars on the famous hill, and in the dark! More Ford Escorts than you can shake a torch at and much more besides. Nostalgia ran deep.

A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM… but not the film starring Ben Stiller, and not a big gothic building in New York stuffed with dinosaur bones. This was Silverstone's museum and the star of the evening was Le Mans winner and ex F1 driver Derek Warwick
